Short presentations on field ornithology in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg in 1969

Abstract

Since 1970, the German Ornithologists' Association has been publishing a journal of reports entitled ‘Ornithologische Schriftenschau’ (Ornithological Literature Review). This enables every ornithologist to quickly gain an overview of the latest national and international literature.

Unlike the Orn. Schriftenschau, our short reports, which will now appear once a year in the Corax supplements, are intended to make purely local literature relating only to our reporting area accessible. Works from the approximately 80 journals reviewed in the Orn. Schriftenschau are therefore not mentioned here.

Our aim is to comprehensively record publications on avifauna in non-ornithological journals that are relevant to our area. It is precisely these that all too easily escape the attention of those interested. It is possible that one or two works or journals may have been overlooked in this first attempt. We would be grateful for any relevant information.
