Observations of two hybrids Mallard x Tufted Duck Anas platyrhynchos x Aythya fuligula in Schleswig-Holstein with an overview of current knowledge on this duck hybrid

We report on the observations of two different hybrids Mallard x Tufted Duck Anas platyrhynchos x Aythya fuligula in Schleswig-Holstein from 2020 to 2023. The appearance and behaviour of the two birds are described. At the same time, the observations of this rare duck hybrid available in the literature and online databases are compiled.
